How to Apply

2008 CVS Caremark Charitable Trust Grants

IMPORTANT NOTE: Applications for 2008 will be accepted May 1 - June 15, 2008. All applications to the CVS Caremark Charitable Trust must be submitted on-line.

The CVS Caremark Charitable Trust focuses primarily on supporting charitable organizations that are making a difference in the lives of children with disabilities. Resources are also allocated to help support organizations focused on providing healthcare to the uninsured. We believe these two areas represent opportunities for the Trust to create positive outcomes for diverse populations of people in communities across the country.

The CVS Caremark Charitable Trust funds the following:

1. Programs that serve children with disabilities under the age of 21 that address the following:

  • Accessibility to Physical Activity
  • Early Intervention
  • Health and Rehabilitative Services

The CVS Caremark Charitable Trust defines disabilities as impairments that limit one or more routine activities of daily living. The following are types of disabilities considered for CVS Caremark Charitable Trust Grants.

Physical Disabilities
  • Physical disabilities are those conditions that result in various levels of mobility impairment including limitations in the ability to perform basic physical activities.
  • Physical disabilities often are associated with cerebral palsy, neuromuscular diseases, spina bifada and traumatic brain injuries.
  • Physical disabilities may be the result of either acquired or congenital causes - existent at birth or resulting from accident or illness.
Developmental Disabilities
  • Developmental disabilities are those conditions that result in various levels of cognitive, behavioral, emotional or social impairment
  • Developmental disabilities include such conditions as Down syndrome, autism, Asperger syndrome, dyslexia and various learning disabilities
  • Developmental disabilities often exist from birth, though they may be acquired later in life
Sensory Disabilities
  • Sensory disabilities are those conditions that result in the loss or partial loss primarily of vision or hearing
  • Sensory disabilities may be the result of either acquired or congenital causes - existent at birth or resulting from accident or illness

2. Healthcare organizations that are dedicated to improving the quality of health and well-being of uninsured seniors, adults, youth and children that address the following:

  • Pre-natal Care
  • Screening and Preventative Programs
  • Better Healthcare Outcomes
  • General Health Programs

About the Application Process

NOTE: All CVS Caremark Charitable Trust applications must be submitted online.

The first step in our process is to determine if the project falls within the guidelines described above. Following receipt of this application, the application passes through preliminary screening and then to a committee for full review. The CVS Caremark Charitable Trust will review only one proposal per organization per year. Only complete proposals will be given consideration.

All applicants will receive an email response within 12 weeks whether or not their project has been selected for consideration. Please do not call or email us during the review process, as we are unable to provide any additional information or status. We appreciate your patience, as we receive hundreds of applications annually.
