Caremark Rx and PharmaCare Lead Mail Order Segment CVS/pharmacy Ranks Highly among National Chain Pharmacies
WOONSOCKET, R.I., April 17 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- CVS/Caremark Corporation (NYSE: CVS) announced that its mail order and retail pharmacy businesses rank highly in the J.D. Power and Associates 2007 Retail Pharmacy Satisfaction Study(SM) released today. The study was conducted in the Fall of 2006, prior to the closing of the CVS/Caremark merger. Therefore, results for Caremark Rx, Inc., PharmaCare, and CVS/pharmacy are reported separately.

Caremark Rx ranked highest overall in the mail order segment and ranked highest in two of the five major performance factors that were used in the study to indicate customer satisfaction. Notably, Caremark was highest in a tie in availability of medication and information and tied for highest in convenience. In addition, Caremark exceeded the mail order segment average for layout and design and non-pharmacist staff.
PharmaCare, which ranked second overall in the mail order segment, rated highest on competitiveness of pricing and non-pharmacist staff. PharmaCare exceeded the segment average on convenience.
CVS/pharmacy ranked second among national retail chain pharmacies overall, after Medicine Shoppe, as measured by the six major performance factors used to measure chain pharmacies, including convenience, non-pharmacist staff, medication availability and information, store layout and design, competitiveness of pricing, and pharmacist.
